War Veterans and Associates

To become a full member of the War Veterans Club bowlers need to have full membership of a registered bowling club. Our Annual Membership Fees are $15.00

New bowlers are encouraged to join, our members have many years of experience and will offer assistance if requested.

Bowls are played at Club Manly every Friday morning commencing at 9.30 am and concluding at 12.00 noon, at this time our participants adjourn for a cooked lunch. The game fee is $12.00 which covers the game of bowls and the lunch provided

Depending on the number of participants, games normally consist of three bowl mixed triples

Persons interested in joining our bowling group are required to register their name with the selectors between 8:00am and 8.30am by phoning Club Manly on (07) 3396 3272

The club also caters for visiting bowling clubs to play against our members.  This usually occurs on a Sunday afternoon after a hot lunch provided to our guests and members, these dates will be provided when they become available.

In recent times, the club has organised a week-end trip to Yamba Bowls Club in Northern New South Wales. Games are played on the Saturday and following breakfast on the Sunday morning, the club then visits the Mclean Bowls Club for lunch and bowls before returning home.

The Wynnum Manly War Veterans were fortunate to receive a grant from the Department of National Parks, Recreation, Sport and Racing under their “Get Going” Program.

These funds were for the purchase of eight bowlers arms, training in their use and for a limited number of members to undertake a St. John Ambulance First Aid Training Course.

The club caters for persons with a disability or mobility restrictions and it is the intention of the club to have a number of members obtain the necessary skills to show members how to use the bowling equipment.  This will certainly help members who require this additional assistance.
